Calm Spirit Contemporary art Korea August 12 - September 8, 2010 Handforth Gallery @ the Main Library
Opening reception: Thursday, August 19 @ 6 p.m. Many of the artists will be present. Nineteen acclaimed Korean artists reexamine their identity in the context of the American landscape. "The purpose of the exhibition," explains exhibition curator Jung Ho Kim, "is to introduce Korean contemporary art and its unique harmonization of grace and power to the wider American public in order to spread greater awareness of the progressive contemporary movement within the Korean art world." Presented by the Korean American Artists Association of Washington in celebration of their 20th anniversary.
